U.S. Facilities and Operations:


Supporting product sales are a network of nationwide marketing and manufacturing locations. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is home to the U.S. Corporate Headquarters along with the marketing offices of the Hospital, Outpatient Markets (OPM), Renal Therapies, Vascular Interventional, International, and OEM Divisions. Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc.(CAPS®) is also managed from this location. The nearby Allentown, Pennsylvania, facility manufactures Needle-free products, IV Safety Catheters, Anesthesia Systems, Introducers, Pharmacy Admixture products. Vascular products including Right Heart Catheters and Interventional Accessories are also manufactured in Allentown. The Irvine, California facility produces IV Solutions, Basic and Specialty Nutrition, Drug Delivery, and BTC products. Infusion Pump Systems are manufactured in Carrollton, Texas and IV administration and IV and Irrigation sets are produced in the Dominican Republic. 


Position Summary:

Provide ongoing support for the development and standardization of Progression Based System technical training processes and procedures to support manufacturing skills development of employees. A major emphasis of this position is on the ongoing assessment, development, implementation and maintenance of the progression based technical training system, the purpose of which is to improve the technical manufacturing competence of our operations personnel, by reducing process deviations and supporting the production of quality products. 


Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Develops, manages, and implements technical training programs to ensure compliance with FDA regulations, GMP guidelines, OSHA requirements, Company policies, Standard Operating Procedures, best practices methods, and employee health and safety guidelines.
  • Conduct ongoing analyses to determine technical training needs/address general technical proficiency gaps.
  • Develops effective technical training materials, including facilitator’s guides, user guides, job aids, visual aids, and measurement tools.
  • Maintain current / create new assessment and evaluations re: general technical knowledge / manufacturing skills to ensure that employees maintain proficiency re: technical manufacturing skills and advancing technology
  • Support the establishment of a fair and equitable system to evaluate individual technical capabilities.
  • Support the establishment of objective criteria for advancement, growth and selection for B. Braun’s increasingly technical environment.
  • Support identification of career paths that align with opportunities within B. Braun’s manufacturing organization.
  • Support fulfillment of B. Braun’s business and human capital needs through PBS and rotational internship programs.
  • Facilitate adoption of apprentice and/or other technical training programs as needed at the site level.
  • Develop scenario based training programs to accompany and enhance technical training.
  • Establish and assess the effectiveness of multiple training methodologies, including external technical classroom, on-line, and in-house manufacturing skill assessments to ensure compliance to existing job requirements.
  • Establish relationships with Technical Schools, local WIB, and other local organizations to facilitate technical training and development of employees and PBS.
  • Develop best practices for on the job training and procedure training.
  • Partner with Site Leadership to market & communicate progression-based technical training programs.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Demonstrated success in leading project teams and managing projects from initiation through completion.
  • Operations, training design, development, and facilitation skills desired.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing with all levels of personnel.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision. Organized work flow, prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously within changing organizational priorities.
  • Ability to understand technical components, compile into learning units and then train that material.
  • Knowledge of how to develop effective training materials.
  • Knowledge of how to measure training results.
  • Well-developed analytical ability.
  • Computer proficiency (specifically MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and a high-quality graphics program).
  • Strong management, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to conduct needs assessments.
  • Ability to develop and carry through action plans.
  • Strong client service and consultation skills.
  • Ability to use collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals.
  • Ability to maintain effectiveness while experiencing major changes in work tasks or in the environment.
  • Ability to use appropriate interpersonal styles and techniques to facilitate learning and gain commitment at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to represent the Company in a highly professional and credible manner.


Expertise: Qualifications - Experience/Training/Education/Etc



  • BA/BS degree in STEM disciplines from a 4 year college or university or equivalent combination of 10 years of education and experience in vocational training.
  • Minimum of 3 -5 years related experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong vocational background in the creation, design and delivery of technical training and development programs and interventions that have facility wide impact.
  • Domestic travel may be required.


  • Operations experience and training design, development, and facilitation skills desired.
  • ASTD certification.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience developing and implementing Communication strategies.
  • Troubleshooting experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Team Leadership skills within and outside organization
  • Willingness to participate in community and educational organizations for the benefit of establishing relationships for this organization to improve technical training


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
