U.S. Facilities and Operations:


Supporting product sales are a network of nationwide marketing and manufacturing locations. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is home to the U.S. Corporate Headquarters along with the marketing offices of the Hospital, Outpatient Markets (OPM), Renal Therapies, Vascular Interventional, International, and OEM Divisions. Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc.(CAPS®) is also managed from this location. The nearby Allentown, Pennsylvania, facility manufactures Needle-free products, IV Safety Catheters, Anesthesia Systems, Introducers, Pharmacy Admixture products. Vascular products including Right Heart Catheters and Interventional Accessories are also manufactured in Allentown. The Irvine, California facility produces IV Solutions, Basic and Specialty Nutrition, Drug Delivery, and BTC products. Infusion Pump Systems are manufactured in Carrollton, Texas and IV administration and IV and Irrigation sets are produced in the Dominican Republic.


Position Summary:


Under the direction of the Supervisor/Line Operator/Process Monitor, attend bottle washer, perform operator maintenance, sets up, minor adjustments and clear blockages.


Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Perform adjustments, setups, changeovers not requiring a maintenance mechanic.
  • Watch for lot changes, keeping the lots separated. Notify Line Person or Process Monitor of conveyor problems or bottle rinse problems. Collect ID tags off incoming cases and give to Process Monitor at the end of each lot.
  • Keep equipment clean and clear blockages to keep machine running.
  • Perform other material handling functions related to the operation.
  • Palletize containers manually when required.
  • Collect rinse samples before shift start-up and take samples to Chemistry.
  • Work in other areas as needed.
  • Operate forklifts and hand or power truck, when needed. Proof required for proper training in operation.
  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition. Adhere to all safety and good housekeeping regulations.
  • Sign off last pallet of every lot and record partial pallet quantity on back of tag.

  • Moderate damage is possible, but can be prevented by close attention to bottle washer conveyor system.

  • Damage is possible, but can be prevented by considerable care and attention.

Safety of Others

  • Considerable care and attention is required in the operation of this machine in the presence of others because of exposed moving parts. Attendant must be extremely safety conscious at all times.
  • Care and attention required in keeping work area clean, while following Company's safety procedures, reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to the Supervisor/Line Operator.


Expertise: Qualifications-Experience/Training/Education/Etc



Equivalent Education Level

  • Required to pass SAT I test with a minimum score equivalent to 4th grade English comprehension and 3rd grade Math skills.

Job Training and Experience

  • At least 6 months related production experience. Up to 4 weeks on-the-job training.

Knowledge Required

  • Basic mathematical aptitude.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of production operation, use of equipment, product flow and movement.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to read, write and understand job language in English.
  • Knowledge of GMPs. Safety conscious, innovator, visionary and a team player.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
