U.S. Facilities and Operations:

 

Supporting product sales are a network of nationwide marketing and manufacturing locations. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is home to the U.S. Corporate Headquarters along with the marketing offices of the Hospital, Outpatient Markets (OPM), Renal Therapies, Vascular Interventional, International, and OEM Divisions. Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc.(CAPS®) is also managed from this location. The nearby Allentown, Pennsylvania, facility manufactures Needle-free products, IV Safety Catheters, Anesthesia Systems, Introducers, Pharmacy Admixture products. Vascular products including Right Heart Catheters and Interventional Accessories are also manufactured in Allentown. The Irvine, California facility produces IV Solutions, Basic and Specialty Nutrition, Drug Delivery, and BTC products. Infusion Pump Systems are manufactured in Carrollton, Texas and IV administration and IV and Irrigation sets are produced in the Dominican Republic.

Responsibilities

Manufacturing Process Engineer

 

Position Summary:

 

Manufacturing Engineer to provide Process and Controls support to ensure the highest quality of disposable medical device products. Provide sustaining support of high volume, fully automated manufacturing equipment for the improvement of process yield, efficiency, and reliability. This role will have opportunities to lead initiatives and collaborate with teams both at the local as well as the global level.

 

 

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

 

  • Support products and processes focused on improving Key Process Indicators (KPIs) for high volume, automated processes such as: scrap reduction, cycle time improvement, and equipment reliability.
  • Participation in cross functional teams for the development, testing, and qualification of new equipment, processes, and products.
  • Research, develop, and implement improvements to existing and/or new products, processes, equipment, and technology.
  • Provide technical expertise on resolving manufacturing issues, and lead cross-functional improvement initiatives driven by OEE metrics.

 

    • Preparation of specifications and protocols for the development, testing, and qualification of equipment, processes, and products.
    • Support projects by contributing to the development of project schedules, teams, and cost tracking.
    • Prepare and present technical investigations & reports to middle level management.
  • Lead and contribute to teams and projects supporting lean and six sigma initiatives.

 

 

Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

 

  • Desired: Hands-on experience with Siemens PLCs and HMIs, vision systems, robotics systems, and complex Servo-Motor control.
  • Desired: Experience with Six Sigma tools and methodology. Green Belt/Black Belt certification a plus.
  • Familiarity with fully and semi-automated process techniques and equipment.
  • Strong problem solving and Root Cause Analysis skills. Experience writing & executing DOE experiments a plus.
  • Leadership of process and product improvement teams.
  • Thorough understand of GxP requirements and cGMP standards.
  • PLC and Controls Theory application.

Qualifications

Expertise: Qualifications - Experience/Training/Education/Etc

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S. Engineering) from four-year college or university and 4-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of 12 years of education and experience.
  • Domestic travel with the possibility of International travel.
