U.S. Facilities and Operations:

 

Supporting product sales are a network of nationwide marketing and manufacturing locations. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is home to the U.S. Corporate Headquarters along with the marketing offices of the Hospital, Outpatient Markets (OPM), Renal Therapies, Vascular Interventional, International, and OEM Divisions. Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc.(CAPS®) is also managed from this location. The nearby Allentown, Pennsylvania, facility manufactures Needle-free products, IV Safety Catheters, Anesthesia Systems, Introducers, Pharmacy Admixture products. Vascular products including Right Heart Catheters and Interventional Accessories are also manufactured in Allentown. The Irvine, California facility produces IV Solutions, Basic and Specialty Nutrition, Drug Delivery, and BTC products. Infusion Pump Systems are manufactured in Carrollton, Texas and IV administration and IV and Irrigation sets are produced in the Dominican Republic.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

Under the direction of area leader, performs operator maintenance, make minor adjustments and clean blockages on material handling systems and equipment. Performs medium to heavy material handling functions.  Works in the Compounding Area.  Fills in for Process Technologist as needed.

 

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Performs adjustments, setups and changeovers on material handling systems.
  • Operates hand and power trucks and other material handling equipment to move materials throughout the Production areas.
  • Loads and unloads product onto or from pallets and gaylords, checks product identification to verify correct part number, lot number and description.
  • Sets up, operates and maintains the Procedyne breaker plate cleaning equipment and ensures the ample supply of plates and screens are on hand.
  • Monitors and maintains the dust collection system.
  • Operates a CIMs terminal and Intermec bar code printer to record production output, log materials used and print bar code labels for finished rolls.
  • Supplies extrusion lines with any needed supplies and raw materials.
  • Recommends modifications to material handling systems to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Fills in for Process Technologist s needed.
  • Reports Quality Deviations to a Lead Person/Process Monitor.
  • Completes and maintains appropriate documentation.
  • Maintains work area in neat and orderly condition. Adheres to all safety and good housekeeping regulations.
  • Works in other areas as needed and performs related duties on a relief basis as assigned.

Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

  • Good communication skills with the ability to read, write, and understand job language and work directions in English.
  • Ability to read, understand, and adhere to written procedures.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of GMPs, safety conscious, innovator, visionary and team player
  • Ability to add and subtract simple whole numbers.

Qualifications

Expertise: Qualifications - Experience/Training/Education/Etc

 

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Required to pass SAT II skills test with a minimum score equivalent to 7th grade English comprehension and 6th grade math skills.
  • Up to 2 weeks on the job training.
  • Previous mechanical experience or technical training highly desirable.
  • Proof required for proper use of hand or power truck operation.
