U.S. Facilities and Operations:


Supporting product sales are a network of nationwide marketing and manufacturing locations. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is home to the U.S. Corporate Headquarters along with the marketing offices of the Hospital, Outpatient Markets (OPM), Renal Therapies, Vascular Interventional, International, and OEM Divisions. Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc. (CAPS®) is also managed from this location. The nearby Allentown, Pennsylvania, facility manufactures Needle-free products, IV Safety Catheters, Anesthesia Systems, Introducers, Pharmacy Admixture products. Vascular products including Right Heart Catheters and Interventional Accessories are also manufactured in Allentown. The Irvine, California facility produces IV Solutions, Basic and Specialty Nutrition, Drug Delivery, and BTC products. Infusion Pump Systems are manufactured in Carrollton, Texas and IV administration and IV and Irrigation sets are produced in the Dominican Republic.


Position Summary:


The Materials Coordinator will be an essential position in implementing, and monitoring procedures to ensure that the proper inventory is in all warehouse locations. The position will assist management in the development and implementation of a formal program to audit all areas related to inventory movement for integrity and accuracy. The individual will lead the cycle counts in a program to identify and eliminate any problems found in daily cycle counts. Perform computer tasks related to the area’s production. Duties include accurate record keeping of production reported data, cycle counts, reject rates and material losses by component. Compare actual material costs to standard and track daily variances. Will assist all other departments with their inventory control procedures as needed. 


Responsibilities: Essential Duties


  • Coordinate the cycle count progress and results to identify necessary recounts and processes to be monitored and provide regular reports on the results.
  • Conduct cycle counts of inventories for raw materials for the purpose of verifying stock and identifying losses. Performs root cause analysis of inventory discrepancies.
  • Establish and maintain tracking systems to record and reconcile all inventory movements; enter raw material warehouse transactions into the SAP system. Ensure accuracy of inventory records.
  • Perform thorough research and document inventory discrepancies using all available resources to identify root causes and supply possible solutions
  • Will monitor warehouse and store transfers for accuracy and cost effectiveness as directed by Distribution Management.
  • Work with key personnel to effectively implement process improvements to operational procedures in an effort to proactively optimize overall location and item level accuracy and maintain the highest possible productivity levels.
  • Strong problem solving skills; ability to use root cause analysis tools and create action plans for problem resolution.
  • Solid knowledge of inventory controls and transaction processing.
  • Ability to plan and manage projects.
  • Establish and maintain tracking systems to record and reconcile all inventory movements; enter all raw material warehouse transactions into the SAP system. Insure accuracy of inventory records.
  • Liaison to suppliers and off-site warehouses for vendor managed inventories, consignment inventories, and inventories stored in external facilities.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Purchasing to manage inventories within the reject cage for timely disposition of materials.
  • Ensure that the unit of measure “in” is the same as the unit of measure “out”.
  • Coordinate lean activities with warehouse personnel to create and maintain a continuous improvement operation.
  • Create and maintain warehouse monitoring procedures and practices to conform to regulations.
  • Lead Pharmaceutical Elegance efforts within the warehouse.
  • Generate reports, memos, letters, procedures, manuals, and other documents for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information. This includes periodic review of standard operating procedures to insure accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform detailed FDA regulated work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Assist warehouse personnel in the completion of their work activities as necessary.
  • Generate department activities in conjunction with Supervisor to plan and prioritize projects and lean initiatives.
  • Prepare and present to Quality personnel all documents needed for the timely release of raw materials to production.
  • Communicate with all functional areas as necessary to ensure that all pertinent warehouse information is shared throughout the organization.
  • First shift position but work may require flexibility into second shift operations at times.
  • Special Order SKU’s Expedites the daily flow of all special order SKU’s to include receiving, labeling, locating and timely shipping.
  • Troubleshoots all special order problems from time of receipt.
  • Monitors special order returns, provides reporting and ensures quick returns.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

  • Working knowledge and understanding of SAP concepts.
  • Advanced MS Excel, MS Word, and WMS experiences.
  • Experience with report writing database tools a definite plus.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.


Expertise: Qualifications - Experience/Training/Education/Etc




  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a High School diploma and 3-5 years of distribution, warehouse, manufacturing and inventory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. 


  • FDA/cGMP experience a plus.
  • Ability to operate fork lift, hand jacks and other warehousing equipment if required (training provided).


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk or bend or twist. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
