Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

Aesculap’s internship program provides an exciting opportunity for participants to have hands on experience in the Education, Meetings & Conventions field and apply their skills to solve real world challenges and opportunities. Responsible for research and compiling data to complete a Crisis Management Playbook for Off Site Meetings, and other duties as assigned.

 

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Ability to conduct research about how to write and implement a Crisis Management Plan for Off Site Meetings

  • Obtain Information from Industry Associations and resources on what information should be included in the plan

  • Obtain or create a template for the plan that can be adjusted to meet Aesculap’s needs

  • Develop an outline that includes all pertinent topics for the plan

  • Meet with the department manager and other company personnel to gather company information that needs to be included in the plan

  • Lay the plan out in the template and review with appropriate Aesculap stakeholders for approval 

Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

  • Work with each department planner (Academy, Conventions & Corporate Meetings) to learn each planners job function with Aesculap

  • Must embody the Company’s Vision, Mission, and Values.
  • Language Skill: Proficiency in English language. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret industry journals. Ability to effectively present information to team members, management and clients.

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic and advanced business math including manipulating spreadsheets in Excel, and create appropriate graphs.  

  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Qualifications

Expertise: Qualifications-Experience/Training/Education/Etc

 

Required:

  • Currently enrolled full time in an undergraduate program with a major in Hospitality, Meeting, Event or Tourism Management or other relevant field.

  • Requires excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Requires competency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Student Membership in an Industry Association (MPI, HCEA, PCMA) a plus

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
