    U.S. Facilities and Operations:


    Supporting product sales are a network of nationwide marketing and manufacturing locations. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is home to the U.S. Corporate Headquarters along with the marketing offices of the Hospital, Outpatient Markets (OPM), Renal Therapies, Vascular Interventional, International, and OEM Divisions. Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc.(CAPS®) is also managed from this location. The nearby Allentown, Pennsylvania, facility manufactures Needle-free products, IV Safety Catheters, Anesthesia Systems, Introducers, Pharmacy Admixture products. Vascular products including Right Heart Catheters and Interventional Accessories are also manufactured in Allentown. The Irvine, California facility produces IV Solutions, Basic and Specialty Nutrition, Drug Delivery, and BTC products. Infusion Pump Systems are manufactured in Carrollton, Texas and IV administration and IV and Irrigation sets are produced in the Dominican Republic.


    Position Summary:


    The Network / Database Engineer will evaluate hospital networks and servers in preparation of the installation of B. Braun wireless devices including pumps and the associated server software packages. The desired candidate possess excellent wireless and wired network troubleshooting skills, thorough knowledge of Microsoft server environments and Microsoft SQL, along with a thorough understanding of debugging techniques to allow for the assessment of different network topologies, wireless performance, MS server, MSSQL, and application communication. 


    Responsibilities: Essential Duties

    • On site assessment of Hospital networks
    • On site assessment of Hospital servers
    • Ability to use the assessment data to configure B. Braun systems to seamlessly integrate into the Hospital network
    • Provide elevated support for customers experiencing issues related to the IT infrastructure needs of B. Braun product installations
    • Installation of B. Braun software and configuration of Microsoft SQL databases
    • Consult customers on implementation of products with respect to their environment
    • Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve wireless connectivity issues across multiple layers including but not limited to DNS / DHCP, Radius, 802.1x, wireless LAN controller debugging, wired network configuration, routing configuration.

    Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

    • Strong knowledge of routing and wireless infrastructures
    • Strong knowledge of 802.1x technologies
    • Strong Knowledge of database creation, permissions, and troubleshooting
    • Ability to install server software and configure databases in a Microsoft environment
    • Understanding of embedded software configuration and updates
    • Strong communication and technical writing skills
    • Strong organization and time management skills
    • Ability to work unsupervised to achieve project outcomes
    • Strong knowledge of ITIL or similar organizational structures for IT services 




    Expertise: Qualifications - Experience/Training/Education/Etc



    • Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field or equivalent certification/job experience.
    • Minimum 5 years of network and server support.
    • Business travel required.


    • Good customer interface skills and communication
    • Medical device experience
    • Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE)
    • Cisco CCNA certification
    • Security Certification (Sec +, CISSP, etc.)
    • Wireless or networking certification
    • ITIL certification  

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
