U.S. Facilities and Operations:


Supporting product sales are a network of nationwide marketing and manufacturing locations. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is home to the U.S. Corporate Headquarters along with the marketing offices of the Hospital, Outpatient Markets (OPM), Renal Therapies, Vascular Interventional, International, and OEM Divisions. Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc. (CAPS®) is also managed from this location. The nearby Allentown, Pennsylvania, facility manufactures Needle-free products, IV Safety Catheters, Anesthesia Systems, Introducers, Pharmacy Admixture products. Vascular products including Right Heart Catheters and Interventional Accessories are also manufactured in Allentown. The Irvine, California facility produces IV Solutions, Basic and Specialty Nutrition, Drug Delivery, and BTC products. Infusion Pump Systems are manufactured in Carrollton, Texas and IV administration and IV and Irrigation sets are produced in the Dominican Republic.


Position Summary:


Prepare, run SAP re-order reports, organize and maintain Manufacturing Maintenance records using the SAP system to ensure that all spare parts are properly identified and kept current. Support Manufacturing Maintenance/Engineering activities to initiate and complete changes.  Maintain spare parts at satisfactory inventory levels.  Constantly work on Maintenance Stock inventory reduction to assure lowest cost and at the same time optimal inventory levels of stored parts.  Suggest improvements and new minimal inventory levels based on constant monitoring of the inventory change and experience.  Handle special assignments for Manufacturing Managers, Supervisors and Engineers.


Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Lead and oversee the 2nd shift MSR operation.
  • Responsible for cycle counts inventory of a designated area and confirmation.
  • Follow all current SOP’s for the MSR operation.
  • Classify spare parts as ABC based on history usage.
  • Prepare reports including charts & graphs to measure Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
  • Monitor spare parts movement to ensure timely and quality service within standards of performance utilizing the SAP system, purchase order files and other computer equipment.
  • Prepare necessary spare parts when they become due for Preventative Maintenance.
  • Input pertinent data into the SAP system when new equipment and modification are introduced into production.
  • Prepare and maintain files of individual part numbers and their descriptions.  Survey active spare parts records to identify obsolete items and initiate action to reclassify with obsolete records.
  • In collaboration with the Manufacturing Maintenance and Engineering staff, develop company records, specifying spare parts which make up the production machines with extreme accuracy.
  • Interact with outside sales representatives and vendors for cost effective procurement of parts and services.
  • Adhere to and enforce procedures for the smooth, timely and effective operation of the MSR storage area.
  • Serve as information center on spare parts specifications to the manufacturing maintenance and engineering personnel.
  • Constantly work on reduction of inventory levels.
  • Assist with the training of Maintenance Mechanics and Technologists in the Spare Parts Computer System.
  • Assist MSR management, coordinate department work schedules, and train new employees in the MSR department.

Expertise: Knowledge & Skills 

  • Must be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word either through formal training or experience.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to communicate and interface with requestors, sales representatives, and vendors.
  • Familiarity with the SAP system and PC based systems a must
  • Ability to think and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • High mathematical aptitude.


Expertise: Qualifications - Experience/Training/Education/Etc



  • High diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year minimum experience in inventory control or other related fields, i.e. shipping/receiving, etc.
  • General knowledge in mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Must be able to read basic mechanical blueprints and coordinate work flow activity with other departments as required. 


  • Knowledge of B. Braun Medical Manufacturing spare parts.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
