    U.S. Facilities and Operations:


    Supporting product sales are a network of nationwide marketing and manufacturing locations. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is home to the U.S. Corporate Headquarters along with the marketing offices of the Hospital, Outpatient Markets (OPM), Renal Therapies, Vascular Interventional, International, and OEM Divisions. Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc. (CAPS®) is also managed from this location. The nearby Allentown, Pennsylvania, facility manufactures Needle-free products, IV Safety Catheters, Anesthesia Systems, Introducers, Pharmacy Admixture products. Vascular products including Right Heart Catheters and Interventional Accessories are also manufactured in Allentown. The Irvine, California facility produces IV Solutions, Basic and Specialty Nutrition, Drug Delivery, and BTC products. Infusion Pump Systems are manufactured in Carrollton, Texas and IV administration and IV and Irrigation sets are produced in the Dominican Republic.


    Position Summary:


    The primary responsibility of a Machine Technician is to oversee the operation of production equipment for the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products.  This work will include loading & unloading of raw materials, verifying proper machine operation, clearing machine jams when they occur, testing and verifying the quality of the product being produced, and reporting all required data during runs. This individual must possess an overall knowledge of GMP’s, ISO, and OSHA requirements in the manufacturing environment.  This position shall operate in accordance with company policies & procedures, FDA regulations, and ISO standards.


    Responsibilities: Essential Duties

    • Operate, repair, and maintain assigned production equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, manuals
    • Repair or replace defective components
    • Assist in the preventive maintenance of all equipment
    • Test and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic devices to ensure optimum performance
    • Understand lockout/tagout procedures
    • Perform basic maintenance functions on all manufaturing equipment

    Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

    • Reasoning: Apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.  Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in or from standardized situations.
    • Mathematics: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure.  Perform the four operations with like common and decimal fractions.  Compute ratio, rate, and percent.  Draw and interpret bar graphs.  Perform arithmetic operations involving monetary units.  
    • Language: Reading, Writing and/or Speaking: Recognize meanings of 2,500 two or three syllable words.  Read at a rate of 95-120 words a minute.  Compare similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.  Writing:  Print simple sentences containing subject, verb, and object, and series of numbers and names.  Speaking:  Speak simple sentences, using normal word order, and present and past tenses.
