    U.S. Facilities and Operations:


    Supporting product sales are a network of nationwide marketing and manufacturing locations. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is home to the U.S. Corporate Headquarters along with the marketing offices of the Hospital, Outpatient Markets (OPM), Renal Therapies, Vascular Interventional, International, and OEM Divisions. Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc. (CAPS®) is also managed from this location. The nearby Allentown, Pennsylvania, facility manufactures Needle-free products, IV Safety Catheters, Anesthesia Systems, Introducers, Pharmacy Admixture products. Vascular products including Right Heart Catheters and Interventional Accessories are also manufactured in Allentown. The Irvine, California facility produces IV Solutions, Basic and Specialty Nutrition, Drug Delivery, and BTC products. Infusion Pump Systems are manufactured in Carrollton, Texas and IV administration and IV and Irrigation sets are produced in the Dominican Republic.


    Position Summary:


    Responsible for functioning as an individual contributor and subject matter expert for Project Controls. Provide project controls expertise for maintaining cost and schedule requirements to meet business objectives. Demonstrate expertise within the project controls environment while supporting capital projects and while interacting with variety of functional groups that are directly involved with corporate functions, capital project life cycles and site operations. 

    Responsibilities: Essential Duties


    • Analyze existing processes and procedures to identify areas of improvement and recommend solutions to optimize schedule and financial controls of capital projects.
    • Promote strategies for efficiency improvements, lead/support implementation of organization process improvement initiatives and evaluate results.
    • Define and document engineering standards and collaborate with Engineering and Technology Management leadership to institutionalize standards.
    • Lead project controls planning for capital projects.
    • Cost management including cost estimates, controlled budgets and cash flows.
    • Preparation of requests for capital investment.
    • Partnering with Corporate Finance and various stakeholders to calculate return on investments.
    • Preparation of monthly reports.
    • Establish change management processes and implement to reconcile change requests.
    • Facilitate sessions to align and communicate change request disposition.
    • Review invoices and recommend disposition based on progress / milestones.
    • Purchase requisition preparation and processing.
    • Analyze proposals and support procurement activities related to external services and/or equipment.
    • Develop documentation with supporting backup for recovery where gaps are identified in external services and/or equipment provided.
    • Verify earned value and facilitate related processing of payment applications.
    • Support internal audits.
    • Collaborate with Finance to support asset creation.
    • Preparation and management of schedules.
    • Collect data, provide analysis and proactively identify variances to forecast to assist in developing strategies to improve performance and reduce cost.
    • Assist in forecasting and analyzing budgets and monitoring of expenditures versus budget, ensuring that expenses are charged to the appropriate cost center for accurate reporting purposes.
    • Assist with training and auditing as appropriate.
    • Supervise and direct contract personnel in the performance of contracted services.
    • Provide leadership and collaborate with peers within the Engineering organization.
    • High degree of both internal and external personnel interfaces.
    • Must have strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to produce results with minimal supervision.
    • Must be a team player, detail oriented and be able to function effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

    Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

    • Experience with planning project controls requirements, methods and deliverables for capital projects, and formally documenting in a project controls plan.
    • Experience with developing and reviewing cost estimates for complex, highly automated life sciences projects, and reconciling estimates prepared by external partners.
    • Ability to prepare cash flow forecasts.
    • Experience with analyzing cash out to identify trends, and adjusting cash flow to accurately represent forecasts.
    • Working knowledge of risk analyses used for identifying and mitigating risks linked to project controls responsibilities.
    • Extensive experience with preparation, review, integration and socialization of monthly reports.
    • Experience with verifying progress using a variety of methods to confirm earned value and related payment applications.
    • Extensive experience with reviewing, analyzing, reconciling and recommending disposition of change requests.
    • Working knowledge of Contracts, correlating scope provided to agreement terms, communicating gaps to suppliers, and resolving disputes in scope of supply.
    • Experience with a variety of scheduling tools, and working knowledge of Primavera and Microsoft Project.
    • Experience with a variety of project management tools including Prolog, Proliance, Expedition, and Crystal Reporting.
    • Use a broad range of software used in the Pharmaceutical industry (e.g. MS Office applications, MS Project, MS Visio, AutoCAD, SAP, etc.).
    • Experience with supporting audits.
    • Experience with developing SOPs for project controls requirements, and institutionalizing across a multi-location network.
    • Knowledge of Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA), OSHA and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, commensurable with dealing with senior level management.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Work independently and as a team member.




    Expertise: Qualifications - Experience/Training/Education/Etc



    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 12+ years of experience. 
    • Domestic and International travel.


    • Project Management Certification
    • Master’s Degree in applicable business field.
