    U.S. Facilities and Operations:

     

    Supporting product sales are a network of nationwide marketing and manufacturing locations. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is home to the U.S. Corporate Headquarters along with the marketing offices of the Hospital, Outpatient Markets (OPM), Renal Therapies, Vascular Interventional, International, and OEM Divisions. Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc.(CAPS®) is also managed from this location. The nearby Allentown, Pennsylvania, facility manufactures Needle-free products, IV Safety Catheters, Anesthesia Systems, Introducers, Pharmacy Admixture products. Vascular products including Right Heart Catheters and Interventional Accessories are also manufactured in Allentown. The Irvine, California facility produces IV Solutions, Basic and Specialty Nutrition, Drug Delivery, and BTC products. Infusion Pump Systems are manufactured in Carrollton, Texas and IV administration and IV and Irrigation sets are produced in the Dominican Republic. 

    Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

     

    Under minimal supervision, develop, design, analyze and implement SAP APO and other Supply Chain related system solutions for business problems and/or programs of high complexity. Assures integrity of the company’s databases, transaction processing and reporting systems, security, resource monitoring, reporting, and the development of specialized systems and IS processes.


    Responsibilities: Essential Duties

     

    • Act as a liaison between the business and local IT to gather requirements and implement solutions for process improvements and new functionality.
    • Confer with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements such as forms of data input, how data is to be summarized, and formats for reports and screens.
    • Write detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs.
    • Review computer system capabilities, process workflow and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system
    • Analyze, design, plan, code, test, document, and implement business applications required to develop or maintain systems. Prepare process workflow charts and diagrams to specify in detail, operations to be performed by computer systems.
    • Follow company validation procedures as outlined by the QA/QC Departments for changing and implementing systems.  Prepare Validation protocol reports to adhere to FDA and GMP procedures and requirements.  Ensure that team members and consultant also follow same procedures.
    • Prepare project status reports to inform management of project progression. Identify any issues which need to be evaluated to management for resolution or assistance.
    • Provide support to high level production systems users by phone or on site on a seven day a week, 24 hour a day basis.
    • Train users on use of systems.
    • Manage upgrades and application of hot packs/support packages.
    • Lead new technology evaluation related to operating systems, hardware, software packages, development tools and methodologies. Identify alternative or new technologies and implement them as Information Services s-standards.

    Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

    • Experience in SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization and other Supply Chain related systems, configuration, master data, Macro programming, planning book functionality and creation, forecast profiles, lifecycle planning and statistical models, setup Jobs, Activities, Process Chains and maintain Core Interface. Specifically, understanding of the modules Demand Planning, Supply and Network Planning and Production Planning / Detailed Scheduling.
    • General business knowledge of Manufacturing / Marketing functions that include Forecasting, Long Term planning , Material Requirements planning, Capacity planning, Detailed scheduling and Shop floor order Execution.
    • Knowledge of system architecture, Relational Database Design, SQL, MS Office, database connectivity; project management standards, methods and techniques.
    • Use of standard operating systems, network environments and application software; prioritize, organize and complete tasks in accordance with established standards and deadlines; communicate effectively with staff, management, other departmental representatives; contractors, consultants, vendors and external customers; assign tasks, explain work methods, demonstrate equipment usage, and check work for completeness, timeliness and accuracy; read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; maintain the confidentiality of proprietary, financial and personnel data.

    Expertise: Qualifications - Experience/Training/Education/Etc

     

    Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from four-year college or university.
    • Minimum of ten years related application/infrastructure creation experience including steps from requirements definition through implementation using the Company’s standard toolsets.
    • Available on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
    • Ability to travel overnight to off-site locations to support systems, attend meetings and conferences.
    • International travel required.
