    U.S. Facilities and Operations:


    Supporting product sales are a network of nationwide marketing and manufacturing locations. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is home to the U.S. Corporate Headquarters along with the marketing offices of the Hospital, Outpatient Markets (OPM), Renal Therapies, Vascular Interventional, International, and OEM Divisions. Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc.(CAPS®) is also managed from this location. The nearby Allentown, Pennsylvania, facility manufactures Needle-free products, IV Safety Catheters, Anesthesia Systems, Introducers, Pharmacy Admixture products. Vascular products including Right Heart Catheters and Interventional Accessories are also manufactured in Allentown. The Irvine, California facility produces IV Solutions, Basic and Specialty Nutrition, Drug Delivery, and BTC products. Infusion Pump Systems are manufactured in Carrollton, Texas and IV administration and IV and Irrigation sets are produced in the Dominican Republic.


    Position Summary:


    Serve as a senior, technical operational excellence resource for the site.  Assist the Associate-Director, Operational Excellence with the overall coordination of Lean and Six Sigma activities. Site LSS Master Black Belt will mentor Lean Six Sigma Belts and Lean Personnel in their improvement activities and potentially lead complex process improvement projects throughout site(s).  This position is the Senior Technical Lean Six Sigma / Lean resource, and as such, will assist in creating curriculum and delivering training up and down all levels of the organization.


    Responsibilities: Essential Duties

    • Coach and mentor Lean Six Sigma Belts to ensure timely completion of their safety, quality, service and/or cost focused projects ultimately leading to the candidate’s certification.
    • Assist with leading enterprise improvement projects of significant size and scope.
    • Assist in the delivery of Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC/DFSS/DMADV), and Lean course material.
    • Assist senior leaders and champions in selecting projects that align with business/functional goals.
    • Assist with the development and maintain prioritized continuous improvement project list for the site. This list tracks all Lean Six Sigma and other continuous improvement projects.  Update and prioritize this list on a regular, ongoing basis.
    • Work with all project leaders to load, update, and maintain active project status in the system. Ensure all financial benefits are reflected in the system (or identified database) to ensure accurate financial tracking and project accountability.
    • Serve as the site mentor for operational excellence personnel development and those just starting to learn and apply fundamental OpEx concepts
    • Provide training for Lean Principles and Lean Six Sigma for all functional groups.
    • Support corporate training needs for Lean Six Sigma and associated concepts when requested.
    • Ensure complete financial documentation for continuous improvement projects. Review monthly financial results with the site Associate Director of OpEx and Finance department for accuracy as needed.




    Expertise: Qualifications – Education / Training / Experience / Etc



    • Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering or related
    • Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification or equivalency
    • PMP certification or related
    • 10+ years experience in engineering and/or operations position
    • Lead 10+ Lean Six Sigma BB/GB projects and mentored 10+ BB/GB projectsWork hours may include dayshift, swing, and graveyard shifts, weekends, and holidays to coincide with business unit shift schedules.
    • Some business travel may be required


    • Masters degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent or MBA
    • 15+ years experience in engineering and/or operations position with cGMP environment
    • Lead or team member of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) projects
    • Led over 25 Kaizen and/or 3P events

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Chemicals may have characteristic odors or hazardous properties that require special handling and PPE.
