    U.S. Facilities and Operations:


    Supporting product sales are a network of nationwide marketing and manufacturing locations. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is home to the U.S. Corporate Headquarters along with the marketing offices of the Hospital, Outpatient Markets (OPM), Renal Therapies, Vascular Interventional, International, and OEM Divisions. Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc.(CAPS®) is also managed from this location. The nearby Allentown, Pennsylvania, facility manufactures Needle-free products, IV Safety Catheters, Anesthesia Systems, Introducers, Pharmacy Admixture products. Vascular products including Right Heart Catheters and Interventional Accessories are also manufactured in Allentown. The Irvine, California facility produces IV Solutions, Basic and Specialty Nutrition, Drug Delivery, and BTC products. Infusion Pump Systems are manufactured in Carrollton, Texas and IV administration and IV and Irrigation sets are produced in the Dominican Republic.


    Position Summary:

    Development and programming support for SAP applications, functional analysts and business departments. Develop new SAP application programs and support for updates and changes to existing programs within B. Braun Medical operations SAP systems.


    Responsibilities: Essential Duties

    • Provide development support for SAP application for implementation of new functions and updates to existing functions. Development support includes ABAP programming and coding, creating and modifying Smartform outputs, IDOC interfaces, User exits, mobile transactions developments and workflow.
    • Provide SAP development support for SAP functional analysts or internal consultants to implement solutions for process improvements and new functionality.
    • Partner with SAP functional analysts and business units to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements such as forms of data input, how data is to be summarized, and formats for reports and screens. Review the requirements and determine the best and most efficient way to accomplish the end results.
    • Review computer system capabilities, process workflow and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.
    • Analyze, design, code, test, and implement program changes or developments required to improve or maintain systems.
    • Follow company validation procedures and change control processes as outlined by the QA/QC Departments for changing and implementing systems. 
    • Follow company standards and guidelines for programming naming conventions and developments
    • Provide support for potential production systems issues by phone or on site on a seven day a week, 24 hour a day basis.
    • Assist with program changes required for upgrades and application of notes or hot packs for code corrections.

    Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

    • General knowledge of data tables, fields and structures. Importing and exporting of data files.
    • Ability to create/maintain ABAP Dialog programs.
    • Understanding of program requirements as they relate to HANA platform.
    • Expertise in creation and modifying ABAP programs and function modules.
    • Experience in debugging programs and ability to analyze issues while debugging.
    • Experience using ABAP dictionary including creation of data elements, domains, tables, structures, views, and search help.
    • Knowledge of system architecture, MS Office tools and applications, database connectivity; project management standards, methods and techniques.
    • Use of standard operating systems, network environments and application software; prioritize, organize and complete tasks in accordance with established standards and deadlines.
    • Able to communicate effectively with staff, management, other departmental representatives; contractors, consultants, explain work methods and check work for completeness, timeliness and accuracy.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; maintain the confidentiality of proprietary, financial and personnel data.


    Expertise: Qualifications - Experience/Training/Education/Etc


    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from four-year College or university.
    • 8-10 years experience in ABAP programming or SAP application developments.


    • Experience with object oriented programming.
