    U.S. Facilities and Operations:


    Supporting product sales are a network of nationwide marketing and manufacturing locations. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is home to the U.S. Corporate Headquarters along with the marketing offices of the Hospital, Outpatient Markets (OPM), Renal Therapies, Vascular Interventional, International, and OEM Divisions. Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc.(CAPS®) is also managed from this location. The nearby Allentown, Pennsylvania, facility manufactures Needle-free products, IV Safety Catheters, Anesthesia Systems, Introducers, Pharmacy Admixture products. Vascular products including Right Heart Catheters and Interventional Accessories are also manufactured in Allentown. The Irvine, California facility produces IV Solutions, Basic and Specialty Nutrition, Drug Delivery, and BTC products. Infusion Pump Systems are manufactured in Carrollton, Texas and IV administration and IV and Irrigation sets are produced in the Dominican Republic.





    Position Summary:

    Under the direction of the Engineering Systems Manager, supervise functions for the facilities maintenance area to ensure timely and efficient maintenance of facility equipment or area. Main responsibilities include efficient use of material, equipment, tools and human resources.

    Responsibilities: Essential Duties

    • Supervise all hourly and SNE personnel in the unit for proper application of company policies and procedures. Resolve payroll issues and approve employee vacations as well as providing manpower coverage for vacations, absentees, preventive maintenance and projects.
    • Provide performance appraisals. Resolve conflicts and implement disciplinary action, when required.
    • Provide and/or coordinate training on company policies, emergency response, quality and safety in accordance with company training guidelines.
    • Review maintenance work orders. Provide resources and inspect work in progress and after completion for accuracy and timeliness.
    • Coordinate daily maintenance work to ensure maximum equipment up-time while utilizing the available equipment, tools, materials and manpower.
    • Monitor maintenance tasks to ensure compliance with quality and GMP requirements.
    • Initiate and implement preventive maintenance tasks for equipment and/or facility in accordance with manufacturer’s and/or engineering guidelines. Provide resources for equipment/facility PM. Ensure proper maintenance of department’s records on all equipment and company property.
    • Assist in preventive maintenance parts/packages in accordance with the planned preventive maintenance program. Coordinate the PM schedules with Production, Quality Control and Engineering groups. Monitor preventive maintenance through completion.
    • Initiate/recommend necessary changes to PM tasks. Ensure proper documentation of PM and changes.
    • Assist in maintaining equipment hierarchy and spare parts program for equipment to ensure maximum equipment/area up‑time.
    • Interface with outside vendors for parts purchases. Collect technical data on equipment to be used for modification or replacement.
    • Assist in development of downtime tracking programs and propose methods to reduce equipment downtime.
    • Provide and/or coordinate on‑the‑job training and equipment safety training for hourly and SNE personnel.
    • Examine weekly/Monthly expenses and ensure compliance with allocated budget for equipment/facilities maintenance costs.
    • Recommend/initiate methods to reduce cost by undertaking projects to improve equipment efficiency and facility operations.
    • Collaborate with all other functional groups i.e.; Production, Quality Control, Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, Engineering and Purchasing.
    • Assist in maintenance/engineering projects to ensure highest level of workmanship.
    • Responsibilities for preparation and completion of technical and non-technical documents, training and maintenance procedures, drawing packages and other related documentation.
    • Ensure adequate staffing (headcount) levels are maintained.

    Expertise: Qualifications - Experience/Training/Education/Etc



    • Minimum 5 years experience in maintenance or technical field, supplemented by courses in Supervisory and Communication Skills, GMPs and general computer knowledge.
    • BS degree with 2 - 4 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a similar position with at least 1 or more years demonstrated successful performance/experience in a supervisory position.



    • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
