    U.S. Facilities and Operations:

     

    Supporting product sales are a network of nationwide marketing and manufacturing locations. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is home to the U.S. Corporate Headquarters along with the marketing offices of the Hospital, Outpatient Markets (OPM), Renal Therapies, Vascular Interventional, International, and OEM Divisions. Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc. (CAPS®) is also managed from this location. The nearby Allentown, Pennsylvania, facility manufactures Needle-free products, IV Safety Catheters, Anesthesia Systems, Introducers, Pharmacy Admixture products. Vascular products including Right Heart Catheters and Interventional Accessories are also manufactured in Allentown. The Irvine, California facility produces IV Solutions, Basic and Specialty Nutrition, Drug Delivery, and BTC products. Infusion Pump Systems are manufactured in Carrollton, Texas and IV administration and IV and Irrigation sets are produced in the Dominican Republic.

    Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

     

    The manager’s position exists to plan, organize, direct and report on the manufacturing operations in their respective departments. The manager also acts a conduit of information between the company’s upper management and front-line supervisor’s for the purpose of transforming management strategies into tangible objectives for the shop floor. The manager also acts as a highly visible representative of the company and its philosophy. The manager is an integral part in perpetuating a positive work environment. The manufacturing manager’s position affects the performance of the department as he or she directly influences the performance of the front-line supervisors and helps coordinate the efficient use of resources to insure that department production objectives are met. 

     

    Responsibilities: Essential Duties

    • Communicate effectively with supervisor concerning production requirements.
    • Analyze production bottlenecks and inefficiencies, seeking solutions.
    • Develop the work practices of subordinates.
    • Coordinate shop floor activities to insure logical production processes.
    • Answer employee questions regarding company policy and practices.
    • Counsel supervisors and direct labor personnel regarding work habits.
    • Analyze efficiency reports.
    • Audit the quality of assembled product.
    • Interface with vendors for quotes on outsourcing and services.
    • Exercise judgment based upon available data.
    • Investigate documented inefficiencies.
    • Implement cost savings ideas.
    • Evaluate scrap reports and reporting.
    • Recommend personnel requirements.
    • Schedule shop floor supervisory coverage.
    • Interface with support groups to improve processes.
    • Develop and write corrective actions.
    • Act as liaison between scheduling and supervisors.
    • Prepare assemblers and supervisors for new production processes.
    • Create positive work environment.
    • Investigate and correct quality concerns.
    • Conduct department and supervisory meetings.
    • Approve overtime expenditures.
    • Conduct annual performance review of subordinates.
    • Write production and quality procedures.
    • Accompany customers on audits.
    • Recommend people for promotion and employment.
    • Train new assemblers and supervisors.
    • Type reports.
    • Prepare spreadsheets on relevant production data.
    • Annualized Capital Expenditures: $1,500,000
    • Annualized Operating Expenditures: $42,000,000
    • Annualized Revenue Goals: $70,000,000 in sales.
    • Assist with hiring and firing recommendations for supervisory personnel $40,000 per decision.
    • Workplace layout and facility design $5,000+
    • Go or no go product acceptability $50,000+
    • Prepare an track annual budget of $52,000,000

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Bachelor of Science or Arts in Management/Engineering
    • Ongoing training and certification in peripheral skills, including problem solving and decision making.
    • Seminars covering emerging trends in business.
    • Manufacturing supervisory experience
    • Engineering background helpful
    • Human Resources experience
    • Flexibility and Adaptability
