    U.S. Facilities and Operations:

     

    Supporting product sales are a network of nationwide marketing and manufacturing locations. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is home to the U.S. Corporate Headquarters along with the marketing offices of the Hospital, Outpatient Markets (OPM), Renal Therapies, Vascular Interventional, International, and OEM Divisions. Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc.(CAPS®) is also managed from this location. The nearby Allentown, Pennsylvania, facility manufactures Needle-free products, IV Safety Catheters, Anesthesia Systems, Introducers, Pharmacy Admixture products. Vascular products including Right Heart Catheters and Interventional Accessories are also manufactured in Allentown. The Irvine, California facility produces IV Solutions, Basic and Specialty Nutrition, Drug Delivery, and BTC products. Infusion Pump Systems are manufactured in Carrollton, Texas and IV administration and IV and Irrigation sets are produced in the Dominican Republic.

    Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

    Performs all maintenance functions of production and support equipment in the assigned areas. Work includes routine inspection and repair or replacement of defective or faulty parts on machines and related equipment. All work is to be performed in such a manner as to ensure good workmanship with a minimum of delay.

    Responsibilities: Essential Duties

    • Must show ability to perform PM on equipment in department.
    • Repair and replace parts on equipment in assigned area.
    • Be able to use basic hand tools.
    • Document all maintenance performed on equipment related to the assigned areas according to policies.
    • Able to assist with preventive maintenance activities.
    • Must know how to use personal computer for facility PC software.
    • Able to assist with basic construction and facility repairs.
    • Must be able to use maintenance management system
    • Demonstrate the knowledge of basic carpentry skills (OJT)
    • Demonstrate the knowledge of basic plumbing skills (OJT)
    • Understand rigging principles and apply in a safe manner.
    • Must be able order material and use search techniques to obtain parts, using part numbers or manufacturers information.
    • Knowledge of basic electricity and electrical testing equipment
    • Must participate in Department specific Training
    • Understand and apply SDWT principles
    • Must be able to read basic construction drawings.

    Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

    • Reasoning:Apply priciples of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.                    
    • Mathematics: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure. Perform the four operations with like common and decimals fractions. Compute ratio, rate, and percent. Draw and interpret bar graphs. Perform arithmetic operations involving monetary units.   
    • Language: Reading, Writing and/or Speaking: Reading: Recognize meanis of 2,500 two or three syllable words. Read at rate of 190-215 words per minute. Compare similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Writing: Print simple sentences containing subject, verb, and object, and series of numbers, names, and addresses. Speaking: Speak simple sentences, using normal word order, and present and past tenses.           

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Must have High School Diploma and two year related experience
    • Must have knowledge of basic carpentry such as interior wall framing, hanging framing, and installing doors, Sheetrock installation and finishing techniques, Installation of suspended ceilings. Basic floor repairs for carpet and tile type flooring.
    • Knowledge of basic plumbing repair for facility fixtures and drains.
    • Must be able to install conduit and pull content wire.
    • Must be able to measure and interpret line and phase voltages and currents.
    • Must be able to operate power snake and other drain cleaning devices.
    • Understand basic mechanical blueprint reading principles.
    • Understand motor controls ,sensors and electrical control devices.
    • Understand basic fluids principles and apply to equipment.
    • Must be able to read basic construction drawings.
    • Must participate in Department specific training.
    • Understand refrigeration and air conditioning principles of operation.
    • Knowledge of facility roof types and basic repair techniques.
    • Knowledge of boiler operation and controls.
    • Knowledge of boiler heat source.
    • Knowledge of boiler supply systems.
    • Understand and apply SDWT principles
    • Must be able to maintain electric water heating systems
    • Understanding of humidification and dehumidification equipment.
    • Must be able to perform preventive maintenance on facility support equipment
    • Knowledge of company change control process.
    • Must have a good understanding of positive pressure requirements in controlled environments
    • Must have knowledge refrigerant types, condensers, pumps, evaporators, expansion devices, and safety control devices.
    • Must have knowledge of Hazwoper, confined spaces, lockout / tagout and protective clothing requirements.
    • Must participate in Department specific training.
    • Must be able to recover and charge refrigeration systems.
    • Ability to maintain facility lighting circuits, troubleshoot / replacing fixture, bulbs and ballast. (Electrician path)
    • Knowledge of facility power distribution system. (Electrician path)
    • Must be able to install black iron pipe and fittings. (Pipefitter path)
    • Must be able to install copper pipe, tubing and related fittings. (Pipefitter path)
    • Must be able to solder and braze . (Pipefitter path)
    • Must be able to identify gage types, cut, and bend sheet metals. (Pipefitter path)
    • Must have knowledge of operating principles of air handling systems. (Pipefitter path)
    • Understand and apply SDWT principles
    • Must be able to maintain chiller systems.
    • Must be able to maintain cooling tower systems
    • Must participate in Department specific Training.
    • Must perform on the job training of co-workers.
    • Ability to coordinate project assignments.
    • Ability to perform welding as trained.
    • Must have working knowledge of heat exchangers and their operations . (Pipefitter path)
    • Must have working knowledge of U.V filtering systems. (Pipefitter path)
    • Must have working knowledge of reverse osmosis process systems. (Pipefitter path)
    • Knowledge of backflow presenters. (Pipefitter path)
    • Must be able to maintain steam system traps, regulators, and control valves. (Pipefitter path).
    • Must be able to balance HVAC systems. (Electrician path)
    • Must be able to read electrical schematics. (Electrician path)
    • Must be able to troubleshoot PLC controlled equipment. (Electrician path)
    • Must be able to maintain emergency backup power generators. (Electrician path)
    • Must be able to trouble shoot transformers. (Electrician path)
