    U.S. Facilities and Operations:

     

    Supporting product sales are a network of nationwide marketing and manufacturing locations. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is home to the U.S. Corporate Headquarters along with the marketing offices of the Hospital, Outpatient Markets (OPM), Renal Therapies, Vascular Interventional, International, and OEM Divisions. Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc.(CAPS®) is also managed from this location. The nearby Allentown, Pennsylvania, facility manufactures Needle-free products, IV Safety Catheters, Anesthesia Systems, Introducers, Pharmacy Admixture products. Vascular products including Right Heart Catheters and Interventional Accessories are also manufactured in Allentown. The Irvine, California facility produces IV Solutions, Basic and Specialty Nutrition, Drug Delivery, and BTC products. Infusion Pump Systems are manufactured in Carrollton, Texas and IV administration and IV and Irrigation sets are produced in the Dominican Republic.

    Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

     

    The Sr. Health & Wellness Representative is responsible for key activities and functions related to the on-site Health Center, employee leaves of absence, disability/work restriction accommodation, workers’ compensation case management and health and wellness activities. Works collaboratively with employees, department management, Human Resources (HR), Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), on-site Health Center staffs, external medical providers, insurance providers and the Leave of Absence Center, to ensure all aspects of employee health and wellness are coordinated.

     

    Responsibilities: Essential Duties

    • Acts as the primary interface with employees for all activities related to Leaves of Absences due to occupational illness or injury.
    • Acts as a resource and business partner to the on-site Health Center staff.
    • Promptly and actively interfaces with Health Center or external medical providers who examine or treat injured workers. Fosters collaboration and engages all appropriate individuals for the review and determination of those injuries that may have potential for work related causation.
    • Coordinates all activities with appropriate individuals related to work restrictions/limitations, transitional return-to-work plans, modified duty/ accommodations and stay-at-work initiatives, for work-related and non-work related illness or injury.
    • Fully understands various Irvine job function essential requirements and activities, as well as individual employee restrictions, to effectively manage return-to-work and work accommodation activities.
    • Actively manages, tracks, and maintains regular contact with injured workers off work or on modified duty.
    • Coordinates and leads weekly workers’ compensation case review and accommodation meetings.
    • Actively participates in monthly and/or quarterly workers’ compensation claims review meetings.
    • Identifies cases or areas involving high frequency and/or high risk injuries/illnesses to help mitigate potential risks.
    • In consultation with the on-site Health Center representatives, EH&S and HR, works to establish best practices for the effective operation of the Health Center, and all related health and wellness initiatives.
    • Provides oversight for employee medical surveillance examination program to ensure it is current and compliant with OSHA requirements.
    • Promote Health Center to management and employees for prevention/wellness, acute episodic and occupational health utilization.
    • Provides visibility and analysis of metrics and data related to Health Center, accidents/incidents, health and wellness activities, etc.
    • Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to manage programs and initiatives and drive them to completion.
    • Computer literacy required.
    • Good written and verbal skills required.
    • Exhibits professional demeanor and leadership
    • Ability to troubleshoot, organize, multi-task and communicate with all levels within the organization as required.
    • Ability to speak to/train groups of employees.
    • Ability to interact with external resources such as medical providers, insurance carriers and auditors.
    • Must be able to interpret, understand and communicate government regulations in a clear concise manner.

    Qualifications

    Expertise: Qualifications - Experience/Training/Education/Etc

     

    Required:

    • Bachelors Degree in Business/Science or related field
    • Minimum 3 – 5 years Clinical, EH&S, Occupational Health, or HR experience.
    • Knowledge of State and Federal employment laws as they related to leaves of absences, ADA, job accommodation, etc.
    • Must be able to work flexible hours and/or days as necessary and at last minute if required.
    • Experience in dealing with responding agencies and individuals during emergencies.

    Desired:

    • 2+ years experience in a manufacturing environment.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
