U.S. Facilities and Operations:
Supporting product sales are a network of nationwide marketing and manufacturing locations. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is home to the U.S. Corporate Headquarters along with the marketing offices of the Hospital, Outpatient Markets (OPM), Renal Therapies, Vascular Interventional, International, and OEM Divisions. Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc.(CAPS®) is also managed from this location. The nearby Allentown, Pennsylvania, facility manufactures Needle-free products, IV Safety Catheters, Anesthesia Systems, Introducers, Pharmacy Admixture products. Vascular products including Right Heart Catheters and Interventional Accessories are also manufactured in Allentown. The Irvine, California facility produces IV Solutions, Basic and Specialty Nutrition, Drug Delivery, and BTC products. Infusion Pump Systems are manufactured in Carrollton, Texas and IV administration and IV and Irrigation sets are produced in the Dominican Republic.
Primary functions are to: (1) Provide technical Environmental, Health & Safety and Security (EHS/Security) support to Manufacturing, Distribution and Corporate Personnel, (2) assist in the development of EHS/Security programs and objectives, (3) develop and deliver safety training programs, (4) develop, implement and ensure maintenance of B. Braun and facility specific EHS/Security policies, programs and procedures through internal audits and/or risk assessments (5) represent B. Braun in all public relations activities, external communications and USEPA/PADEP/OSHA regulatory compliance audits, (6) coordinate various employee activities. These functions are specific to PA Operations.
- Advise and counsel B Braun on a broad range of EH&S/Security issues while providing the required technical support on regulatory requirements (OSHA, USEPA, PADEP), permitting, recordkeeping, reporting, etc.
-Participate and potentially lead all regulatory compliance audits (OSHA, USEPA, PADEP, USDOT, etc.)
-Lead and/or participate the site EH&S/Security committee and sub-committees (Area Safety Point Team, Emergency Response Team, etc.)
-Develops and implements policies or programs meant to promote employee health and safety or environmental compliance.
-Develops and delivers training programs educating staff on environmental concerns or health and safety risks found in the organization.
-Ensures that training records, health/safety manuals or handbooks, incident/accident reports or other documentation are appropriately maintained.
-Review proposed facility, process and equipment changes, document and communicate the necessary recommendations to management to minimize adverse EH&S/Security impacts.
-Purchases and distributes personal protection equipment or other related supplies.
-Monitors known health, safety or environmental hazards, such as noise, air or wastewater pollution levels.
-Participates in the investigation of all work related injuries, illnesses and environmental releases; ensure appropriate corrective actions are facilitated ad implemented in a timely manner.
-Coordinates inspection of facilities, vehicles or equipment.
-Oversee the maintenance of the SDS management system.
-May develop and communicate facility-specific emergency response or evacuation plans.
-Responsible for preparing and providing input on the following reports: Exposure Monitoring, Hazardous Waste, Contingency Plan, SARA Title III, Wastewater Discharge, Toxic Chemical Release, Air Emissions and Facility Audits.
-Facilitate all recycling, hazardous waste and non-hazardous waste shipments, including waste handling, labeling and signing of manifests.
