    Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

    The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for the oversight/transaction of all inventory activities, including physical inventory, all in-house, expiring, sample and set inventory adjustments and analysis. The specialist will also assist the Inventory Control Supervisor and Management to provide various types of analyses and reporting in making sound business decisions.

     

    Responsibilities: Essential Duties

    • Perform all daily inventory control activities dealing with inventory changes, including transfers, adjustments and cycle counts.
    • Ensures inventories properly accounted for within the correct locations, physically and systematically.
    • Researches and resolves inventory discrepancies, reconciles inventory discrepancies on the system to ensure accurate reporting.
    • Conducts the in-house cycle count, program adjustments. Works with Warehouse staff to ensure daily counts are accurate and completed to include necessary adjustments.
    • Reconciles, maintains and analyzes inventory balances for assigned warehouses.
    • Assist inventory audits and make all necessary adjustments.
    • Ensures that all adjustments are complete and closed out each month.
    • Maintains files and records for cycle counts, inventory adjustments and location changes.
    • Assist/Perform/coordinate Physical inventories linked to consignment inventories.
    • Assist/Perform/coordinate Physical inventories linked to yearly Sales rep inventories.
    • Assists other departments as required.
    • Must comply with applicable ISO and FDA regulations as stated in Quality Manual
    • Must embody the Company’s Vision, Mission and Values
    • Other duties maybe assigned.

    Secondary or peripheral job functions: 

    •  To be available for any additional Financial updates within the reporting structure
    • The ability to collaborate and partner interdependently with cross-functional leadership and influence decision-making across multiple functional organizations and levels is required.
    • Must possess a demonstrated ability to manage complexity.
    • Knowledge of Lean material flow, planning and scheduling preferred. Six Sigma/Process Excellence training and/or certification is preferred.

    Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

    • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.   
    • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 
    • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 

    Qualifications

    Expertise: Qualifications-Experience/Training/Education/Etc

    Required:

    • Requires High School diploma or equivalent
    • Requires two or more years prior related experience
    • Experience working in Materials Management, Logistics, is preferred.
    • Must be proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
    • SAP experience is required.
    • Experience with Knowledge of ERP planning tools (i.e. SAP-PP, MM, WM modules) is preferred along with strong analytics.
    • Must have excellent communication skills.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
