Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

The R&D Product Development Engineer will provide expertise in design, development, and manufacturing of new products for B Braun Medical. Engineering support for changes to existing products will also be included. This position will be part of a cross-functional product development and realization team.

 

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Coordinates and aids in the design, evaluation, planning, integration, testing, and completion of activities within engineering projects.
  • Creates test protocols, analyze data, and make conclusions based on the execution of those protocols.
  • Applies standard engineering techniques to design, analyze, test, maintain, repair or improve products, components or assemblies.
  • Familiar with Solidworks, and in particular Solidworks Product Data Management (PDM) system.
  • Familiar with manufacturing processes, in particular, injection molding.
  • Document, execute and implement new product ideas and product changes through the Design Control and Change Control process.
  • Provides technical direction and guidance to professional and/or sub-professional personnel.
  • Analyzes, develops and evaluates systems.
  • Improves and maintains current systems or creates brand new projects.
  • Designs and drafts blueprints with designer, visits systems in the field and manages projects.
  • Applies engineering techniques and analyses within the scope of the assignment.
  • Must be SME in field at higher levels of job.

Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

  • Requires full working knowledge of relevant business practices and procedures in professional field. Uses standard theories, principles and concepts and integrates them to propose a course of action.
  • Work under minimal supervision. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned goals. May periodically assist in orienting, training , assigning and checking the work of lower level employees. Referring only complex problems and issues.
  • Judgement is required in resolving all day-to-day problems.
  • Contacts are primarily with department supervisors, leads, subordinates, and peers. Occasional contact with external contractors/vendors.
  • Background in Medical Devices preferred.
  • Knowledge of Design Controls is preferred.

 

Qualifications

Expertise: Qualifications - Experience/Training/Education/Etc

 

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S. Engineering) from four-year college or university and 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of 10 years of education and experience.
  • Domestic travel with the remote possibility of International travel.
