Position Summary:

 

 

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

• Plans, conducts, and interprets needs analyses, identifying skill or knowledge gaps among employees and documenting job requirements.  
• Collaborates with training staff to develop and deploy training resources meant to address these gaps.  
• Assesses employees' skill or knowledge levels upon completion of training and produces objective measurements of training program performance.  
• Recommends improvements to training programs, content, or delivery mechanisms.

Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

  • Requires full working knowledge of relevant business practices and procedures in professional field. Uses standard theories, principles and concepts and integrates them to propose a course of action.
  • Experience in creating apprenticeship programs, career ladder progression pathways, which includes working with vocational education providers, in house supervisors, local Universities, grant programs, and vendors
  • Must have ability to apply technical knowledge in the following areas of expertise:  Chemistry lab, Microbiology lab, and Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance, and Automation crafts.

  • Must have experience with technical writing of documents with proficiency using MS Word, Visio, and Excel.  MS Project is a plus.

  • Ability to run and distribute learning management system (LMS) reports as needed

  • Experience with Master planning, TWI, Hoshin, Lean/OpEx, training process improvement activities a plus

  • Works under general supervision. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned goals. May periodically assist in orienting, training, assigning & checking the work of other peers.
  • Judgement is required in resolving all day-to-day problems.
  • Contacts are primarily with department supervisors, leads, subordinates, and peers. Frequent contact with external contractors/vendors.

Preferred:

Project Management or PMP Certification

 

Qualifications

Expertise: Qualifications -Education/Experience/Training/Etc

 

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 02-04 years related experience required.
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Ability to work non-standard schedule as needed

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
