As the health care market continues to evolve, there is an increased focus on reducing costs, improving outcomes, and increasing patient satisfaction. These trends are driving a dramatic shift in how the prices of B. Braun’s products are viewed in the marketplace, with significant downward pressure and increased price transparency, benchmarking and competition. To address these challenges, the Upstream Strategic Pricing Team has been created as a centralized shared services group responsible for the development, implementation and oversight of pricing strategy, analytics, policies and long-term capabilities across the region.
Consistent with our North America regional strategy, the new Pricing Team will focus on high growth opportunities within our Core and strategic customer segments. The group will improve focus, rigor and alignment through its centrally-led, cross-functional collaboration model built on a solid understanding of customer value and digitally-enabled data analytics, with the goal of making more effective pricing decisions.
Team members will work closely with internal customers across Marketing, Sales, and Finance as their business partners and trusted advisors to build value-based business cases and create a portfolio of profitable deal structures focused on near and long-term revenue growth and profit uplift opportunities. Simultaneously, and in collaboration with HEOR and MSA, the group will focus on enhancing existing and introducing new analytics capabilities to demonstrate customer value.
The team will be tasked with driving sustainable, profitable growth through the implementation of differentiated and innovative pricing capabilities and structures, and streamlining our pricing policies, governance and processes to ensure agility in addressing near-term opportunities. Regional targets and KPIs will be fully aligned with the company’s financial and strategic priorities.
