Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

The Industrial Engineer II will serve as the driver of Continuous Improvement initiatives for his or her designated Product Line Business Unit or Function.  Reporting within a matrix organization structure to the Product Line Business Unit and to the Continuous Improvement (OPEX) Organization, the Industrial Engineer II will deploy and ensure that the BBraun Operating System is effectively deployed and sustained, including KPI reporting, tier review structure, line efficiency heat maps, and prioritization of Waste Reduction Kaizen and 6 Sigma Projects.  The Industrial Engineer II will organize and facilitate Kaizen events, and lead and/or participate on 6 Sigma projects to improve line efficiency, improve quality, and decrease cost.  The Industrial Engineer II will lead or participate on Line Capacity Expansion and new Line Design Projects, and will ensure that capacity targets, product flow, and efficiency targets are met or exceeded following a 3P approach.  The Industrial Engineer II will manage and report on the Cost Savings Project portfolio for the assigned Product Line Business unit or Function. The Industrial Engineer II will lead or participate on Non-Conformance investigations and CAPAs, providing expertise on Problem Solving following DMAIC and PDCA methodologies with an emphasis on proper Root Cause Investigations and the implementation of effective Corrective Actions.

 

 

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Applies engineering techniques to design, develop, test and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis and production coordination.
  • Applies statistical methods and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements and production standards.
  • Considers workflow, layout and safety measures when designing industrial plants and facilities.
  • Coordinates quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability and minimize cost.
  • Drafts and designs layout of equipment, materials and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer.
  • Ensures design meets organizational and production goals.
  • Will be considered a company leader or high level consultant.
  • Must be expert in area of specialization.
  • Will determine program standards, objectives and requirements.
  • Will work with key leaders to make important organizational decisions. At higher job levels will supervise large groups of employees.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 04-06 years related experience required.
  • Applicable industry/professional certification preferred.
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Ability to work non-standard schedule as needed

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
