Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

Responsible for supervising the development, execution and standardization of the technical training activities and all activities associated with the functions related to compounding sterile preparations.  A major emphasis of the position is the ongoing assessment, development, implementation and maintenance of the technical training system within the CAPS Organization.

 

Responsibilities: Essential Duties:

  • Oversees and coordinates activities related to 503b facilities and the GMP training program.
  • Provides training expertise to the organization by keeping current in the regulatory requirements
  • Monitors site personnel training qualifications to ensure qualification requirements are current and accurate.
  • Provides expertise to site technical training coordinators to ensure training requirements are accurately defined.
  • Participates in investigation of deviations to determine the impact on the product quality, the cause and corrective actions to preclude further deviations of a similar nature when technical training is identified as the corrective action.
  • Reviews technical reports and other sources of information to ensure that training practices are consistent with current industry and regulatory requirements.  Disseminates related information and updates procedures to reflect current technology.
  • Evaluates technical problems and provides recommendation for corrective actions.
  • Writes, collects, organizes and compiles data and reports to provide information for use by upper management or to comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Interfaces with a wide variety of disciplines to evaluate applicability of existing methods.
  • Responsible for ensuring training coordinators skills are maintained / enhanced.
  • Coordinates work load with technical coordinators
  • Develops new and maintains current proficiency tests and evaluations to keep current with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Develop scenario based training programs to accompany and enhance didactic training.
  • Provide hands on demonstrations of compounding processes.
  • Analyzes Quality trend data to determine ongoing training requirements.
  • Develops effective training materials, including facilitator’s guides, user guides, job aids, visual aids, and measurement tools, for distribution to other facilities.
  • Assist Training Manager with reviewing state Board of Pharmacy regulations to ensure compliance in the training program.
  • Develops best practices for on the job training and procedure training.
  • Assists with new facility start-up.
  • Works with the Training Manager, on an ongoing basis, to conduct an analysis to determine training and organizational needs and issues.
  • Evaluates training effectiveness and adjusts accordingly.

  • Proficiency in use of computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite, email, etc.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing with all levels of personnel.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision.  Organize work flow, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

Expertise: Qualifications - Experience/Training/Education/Etc

 

Required:

  • BA/BS degree or 8 years training experience
  • Strong background in the creation, design and delivery of training and development programs and interventions as a corrective / preventative action.
  • Learning Management System experienc

Desired:

  • Completion of a Train the Trainer program
  • Experience with the use of an authoring tool
  • Minimum of 3-5 years compounding experience in all levels of compounding

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities: Other Duties:

  • Supports fulfillment of CAPS business needs through management of the Pharmacy Technician Trainee program
  • Identifies process, procedural, equipment issues and improvement opportunities and communicates to appropriate personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.
