Responsibilities

Position Summary:


 

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Research, develop, and prepare specifications for improvements to existing and/or new products, processes, equipment, and technology.
  • Support projects by contributing through development of project schedules, costs, preparing status reports, attending team meetings, and communicating issues and progress to team and management.
  • Assist in the supervision of contract personnel and outside vendors in the performance of contracted services.
  • Provides technical direction and guidance to other Engineers and Engineering Technicians/Aides.
  • Preparation of specifications and protocols for the development, testing, and qualification of equipment, processes, or products.
  • Prepare Request for Capital Investments including project description, schedule, and cost under the direction of supervisor.
  • Provide direction and technical decision making for management involving capital asset purchases and expenses for projects and/or strategic initiatives.

Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

  • Requires full working knowledge of relevant business practices and procedures in professional field. Uses standard theories, principles and concepts and integrates them to propose a course of action.
  • Work under minimal supervision. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned goals. May periodically assist in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of lower level employees. Referring only complex problems and issues.
  • Judgement is required in resolving complex problems based on experience.
  • Contacts are primarily with department supervisors, leads, subordinates, and peers. Frequent contact with external contractors/vendors.

 

Qualifications

Expertise: Qualifications - Experience/Training/Education/Etc

 

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 04-06 years related experience required.
  • Applicable industry/professional certification preferred.
