Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

Supervise daily activities of the receiving and material handling functions, along with supporting the order fulfillment operation.  This includes receipt of all inbound products and material, scheduling truck shipments, stock put away of products, and inventory management.

 

Principal Duties Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure safety of employees and compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations; Insures Safety of all activities in appropriate work areas.
  • Promote a positive attitude for a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Prioritize daily work and allocate resources to receive and put away stock accurately on time and most effective method possible.
  • Assist in daily execution of work responsibilities in order to meet department objectives.
  • Assist in creating/maintaining warehouse layout strategies to direct products to specifics zone using SAP
  • Monitor process outputs from SAP and visual management systems.
  • Develop team members through training, monitoring, coaching (1 on 1) and annual performance reviews.
  • Responsible for leading the continuous activities of department and driving out waste and non-value added activity of all affected processes throughout the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with operational departments which would include: Customer Service, Sales, Transportation, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance and Quality Control, ATSS repairs and Facilities.
  • Prepare and analyze department reports on a daily/monthly basis.
  • Ensure material handling equipment and storage racks are in a safe working order.
  • Approve, monitor and manage payroll and attendance records.
  • Support lean and continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintain operation within approved budgets.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly metrics activities report to the Leadership.
  • Must comply with applicable ISO and FDA regulations as stated in Quality Manual
  • Must embody the Company’s Vision, Mission and Values
  • Monitor/Approve PTO request, along with submit disciplinary steps if applicable
  • Other duties may be assigned

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  •  Supervise Receiving department and temporary employment, allocating manpower needs as required and prioritizing daily work objectives in all areas including 3rd party processing, material handling and inventory management.

Language and mathematical skills; reasoning ability:

 

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.   

 

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 

 

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 

 

 

Qualifications

Expertise: Qualifications-Experience/Training/Education/Etc


Required:

  • Working knowledge of ISO/GMP requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience within a Warehouse Distribution environment required.
  • Three – five years of distribution supervisor experience required – preferably in a medical/surgical industry.
  • Previous experience with computer systems and software required – SAP/Microsoft.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
  • Ability to multi-task and excel in rapidly challenging environment.
  • Experience with leading a positive team environment; work well independently and possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access), SAP mainframe and Warehouse management systems.
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA Regulations, IATA & ISO 13485.
  • Experience with Bar Coding within a warehouse facility.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
