Position Summary:


Performs all calibration functions of production and support equipment in the assigned areas. Work includes routine calibration and repair of calibration instrumentation. All work is to be performed in such a manner as to ensure good workmanship with minimum delay.


Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Performs OJL work assigned by mentor.
  • Progress in apprentice program by attending and completing assigned course training.
  • Documents activities accordingly as required by department apprentice program.
The job function listed is not exhaustive and shall also include any responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor
from time to time.
It shall be the duty of every employee while at work to take reasonable care for safety and health of himself/herself and other persons.

  • Must show ability to perform calibration activities on production and non production equipment.
  • Repair and replace parts on calibrated equipment.
  • Be able to use basic hand tools.
  • Document all calibration and maintenance activities performed on calibrated equipment related to the assigned areas according to policies.
  • Understand Lean Basics and apply principles to manufacturing floor activities.
  • Understand Workgroup Basics and apply principles to manufacturing floor activities.
  • Be able to complete calibrations on all equipment safely.
  • Read and understand electrical drawings, schematics, and flowcharts. Provide accurate documentation of all work performed when required.
  •  Show a defined troubleshooting logic when diagnosing equipment problems of mechanical or electrical nature.
  • Be able to use Outlook e-mail software packages. Understand MS office software.
  • Understand Basic Print Reading Concepts.
  • Must participate in Department specific training.
  • Understand hazardous material handling and be able to perform HazMat techniques.
  • Understand and successfully interface and operate in SAP Maintenance environment
  • Be able to troubleshoot and repair Pneumatic systems on equipment and ancillary devices.
  • Initiate purchase orders for parts and cross reference specs for ordering replacement parts.
  • Be able to apply pneumatic principles to repair, upgrade and control equipment and ancillary devices.
  • Understand basic plastic welding principles used in department.
  • Be able to travel between PA B.Braun sites to perform calibrations.
  • Understand how equipment such as ultrasonic welders, injection molding machines, leak testers, temperature controllers, etc., function.
  • Be able to wire electrical circuits for the calibration of temperature, pressure and humidity transmitters.
  • Be able to calibrate equipment such as injection molding machines, ultrasonic welding equipment, leak testers, electrical meters, temperature equipment (controllers, thermocouples), pressure sensors (gauges and transmitters), dimensional
    equipment (optical imaging machines, calipers, and pin gages), material testing machines, Relative humidity sensor.
  • Take the Certified Calibration Technician exam upon completion of position.



Expertise: Qualifications -Education/Experience/Training/Etc



  • High school diploma/G.E.D or equivalent required, Associate's or technical degree preferred.
  • 0-0.5 years related experience.
  • Applicable industry/professional certification preferred.
  • Regular and predictable on-site attendance
  • Ability to work non-standard schedule as needed


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
