Position Summary:


Production Lead will oversee production line to ensure Quality and Efficiency is maintained. Works directly with production and management teams to fulfill daily requirements and to prepare for upcoming production runs. Production Lead will drive floor investigations identify root causes and assist in Discrepancy Notification investigations. Production Lead will work directly with the maintenance group in order to identify issues with equipment and escalate the issues as necessary. Will ensure that GMP and GDP standards are followed during manufacturing, and all processes comply with SOP’s. Working under indirect supervision, this position reports to the area Supervisor. Will also assist the Supervisor in leading a group of peers/subordinates to coordinate work and daily functions which may include material movements, schedule rotations, document review, production functions, and training/mentoring. Must be able to understand process order variances to support continues reduction in cost.  Must be hands on in the whole operations and be able to cover for other leads when needed.  Must have full understanding of company KPI’s must be able to motivate the team to achieve daily goals. Must be able to make reports of their shift and present to management. Must learn the production clerk position to cover in the event of absences. 


Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Provides technical support and assistance to a team responsible for improving manufacturing productivity and quality.
  • Collects and analyzes data describing the organization's manufacturing processes in terms of manufacturing output, labor costs, cost of raw materials or other overhead and quality of finished goods.
  • Guides the manufacturing/operations team in interpreting existing processes and policies, and assists in the development of efficiencies or process improvements.
  • Participates in the implementation of changes meant to improve the organization's financial performance and competitive positioning.

Expertise: Knowledge & Skills 

  • Assignments are routine and repetitious in nature. Work performed within narrowly defined parameters. Follows established procedures and guidelines.
  • Works under general supervision. May periodically assist in orienting, training, assigning & checking the work of other peers.
  • May require some limited judgement in resolving problems.
  • Contacts are primarily with department supervisors, leads, subordinates, and peers. Occasional contact with external contractors/vendors.
  • Submit shift reports with production metrics at the end of each shift.
  • Be prepared to act as Supervisor when necessary.


Preferred Requirements:

  • Support process improvements projects
  • Learn new production reporting systems be able to understand and explain during Tier 0 meetings.
  • Conduct shift meetings and maintain the team informed of department changes
  • Conduct Gemba walks to improve process
  • Support safety activities
  • Maintain an open communication with both team and management.
  • Proficiency in Computer Programs such as Adobe, Microsoft Word, and Excel Spreadsheets.



Expertise: Qualifications - Experience/Training/Education/Etc



  • High School diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent, Associate's or technical degree preferred.
  • 02-04 years related experience.
  • Ability to work non-stand schedule as needed.
  • Regular and predictable on-site attendance
