Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

Under minimal supervision, responsible for managing employee relations activities according to established Company policy. Administers internal selection process for all employees.

 

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Manage employee relations activities according to Company policy. Investigate complaints, counsel employees and supervisors. Assist in applying appropriate discipline. Interpret and apply Company policy, Federal, State, and local regulations.
  • Develop, implement and conduct special training programs for the organization to implement compliance with governmental regulations, i.e., Americans with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Sexual Harassment, etc. on an as needed basis.
  • Leads in the revision of Human Resources and participates in the development of policies and procedures.
  • Investigate charges of alleged discrimination based on race, sex, age, color, religion, national origin, and physical/mental disabilities, filed with various federal, state and local governments and where necessary negotiates conciliation agreements.
  • Administer internal bidding process for exempt, salaried nonexempt, and hourly employees.
  • Conduct Exit Interviews.
  • Administer Worker’s Compensation and Leaves of Absences for assigned client groups to ensure company procedures are being followed appropriately. Communicate status with Company Nurse, employee Supervisor, insurance company, and employee.
  • Conduct special projects. Research information and analyze date to respond to legal requirements and company needs.

Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations governing employment.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of effective staffing techniques.
  • Knowledge of agency regulations (OSHA, Worker’s Compensation, etc.).
  • Beginning to intermediate use of personal computer preferably in a windows environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing with all levels of personnel.
  • Ability to resolve interpersonal conflicts.
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Ability to uphold strict confidentiality when required.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision. Organize work flow, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

Expertise: Qualifications - Experience/Training/Education/Etc

 

Required:

  • BS/BA degree required with emphasis in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or Business Administration.
  • Minimum 4 years Human Resources experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Desired:

  • MS in Human Resources Management

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
