Responsibilities

Position Summary:

This position will design, build and manage data pipelines for data structures encompassing data transformation, data models, schemas, metadata, security and work load management. The position will be responsible for supporting the data related technical requirements and infrastructure so that the business can derive the insights from the data.

 

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Running data platform / Supporting data scientists applying related technologies.
  • Design, build and manage data pipelines for data structures encompassing data transformation, data models, schemas, metadata and workload management.
  • Researches cutting edge techniques and tools in machine learning/deep learning/artificial intelligence.
  • Working with large, heterogeneous (Structured, Semi-Structured and Unstructured) datasets in building and optimizing data pipelines, pipeline architectures and integrated datasets using traditional data integration technologies.
  • Ensures data quality and implements tools and frameworks for automating the identification of data quality issues
  • Influence product teams through presentation of data-based recommendations.
  • Plan effective data storage, security, sharing and publishing within the organization .
  • Tracks data consumption patterns, working with data governance and information stewards within these teams, and participates in vetting and promoting content created in the business and by data scientists to the curated data catalogue for governed reuse
  • Implements new tools to make data analysis more efficient.
  • Using innovative and modern tools, techniques and architectures to partially or completely automate the most-common, repeatable and tedious data preparation and integration tasks.
  • Provides documentation and project tracking.
  • Provides escalated user support.
  • Coordinates and participates in regional and global project and operational efforts.
  • Participates in new technology evaluations, identify alternative or new technologies and assist in defining new global and regional IT standards.

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure based analytics capabilities including big data capabilities – Databricks, Synpase, Data Lakes, Machine Learning, Spark. Ability to build and optimize data sets, data pipelines and architecture.
  • Experience building data lakes & data warehouses to support business intelligence and operational intelligence (in both SAP BW and Azure Data Lake).
  • Microsoft SQL experience on MS SQL, MySQL, Azure, Azure SQL DB, Azure Data Factory.
  • Experience building data lakes & data warehouses to support business intelligence and operational intelligence.
  • Strong design and coding skills (e.g. Python, R, Java).
  • Experience with SAP Business Warehouse integration with non-SAP application / systems.
  • Experience with SAP ABAP and HANA modeling tools.
  • Proven experience in BW on HANA, creating Advanced DSO (ADSO), Open DSO Views, Composite Providers, real-time ODP data sources, data transformations (DTPS), extractions, and process chains. Use of SQL scripting or ABAP AMDP to build transformational processes. DTPs, APDs, HAPs (HANA Analysis Process).
  • Working knowledge of SAP HANA Data provisioning (SDI – Smart Data Integration preferable)
  • Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as identity and access management, SSO, data protection, encryption, certificate, and key management.
  • Experience working with stakeholders to support their data structure needs and assisting with data related issues.
  • Experience working with reporting tools including BEx Queries, Analysis for Office and Web Intelligence and Microsoft Power BI a plus.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 10-12 years related experience required.
  • Applicable industry/professional certification preferred.
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Occasional business travel required, Ability to work non-standard schedule as needed, On-call hours as needed
