Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

Under the direction of area leader, performs operator maintenance, make minor adjustments and cleans blockages on material handling systems and equipment. Performs medium to heavy material handling functions.  Works in the Compounding Area.  Fills in for Process Technologist as needed.

 

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • The extrusion technician extrudes various films and and profiles used in manufacturing finished medical devices.
  • The extrusion technician must be able to adjust extrusion line to meet size specifications, resize jobs and operate extrusion machinery and ancillary equipment in a safe and effective manner, following cGMP, quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Technicians must understand and perform tasks such as finished part inspection, material identification and handling data collection while meeting all related requirements for documentation and traceability.
  • Higher level technicians will mentor and train subordinates when requested and assist maintenance with simple maintenance tasks/work orders.

The job function listed is not exhaustive and shall also include any responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.

Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

  • Assignments are routine and repetitious in nature. Work performed within narrowly defined parameters. Follows established procedures and guidelines.
  • Works under direct supervision and from detailed verbal and/or written instructions. Uses established procedures to accomplish assigned task.
  • May require some limited judgement in resolving problems.
  • Contacts are primarily with direct supervisor, peers and subordinates.

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with powered industrial trucks (PITs) preferred.

 

 

Qualifications

Expertise: Qualifications - Experience/Training/Education/Etc

 

Required:

  • High school diploma/G.E.D or equivalent required
  • 02-05 years related experience required.
  • Ability to work non-stand schedule as needed
