Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the EHS/Security Manager, the Sr. EHS/Security Specialist will provide Environmental Health and Safety technical expertise for local, state and Federal regulations. Develop and implement programs to further enhance the site’s Ergonomic, Accident Investigation, Emergency Response and Risk Assessments Programs.  In addition, provide environmental, health, safety and security support to all levels within the organization.  Develop and implement EHS/Security Programs, Procedures and EHS/Security Training that help drive the reduction of occupational injury and illness rates.

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Assists in the development and implementation of programs that detect and prevent fraud, theft or other illegal behavior by employees or visitors.
  • Monitors behavior of employees or visitors on company property.
  • Investigates allegations of theft, fraud or other illegal behavior, interviews witnesses and documents findings.
  • May act as a liaison with external law enforcement departments.
  • Provides leadership, coaching and/or mentoring to a subordinate group. May act as a "lead" or first-level supervisor.
  • Develops and implements policies or programs meant to promote employee health and safety or environmental compliance.
  • Develops and delivers training programs educating staff on environmental concerns or health and safety risks found in the organization.
  • Ensures that training records, health/safety manuals or handbooks, incident/accident reports or other documentation are appropriately maintained.
  • Purchases and distributes personal protection equipment or other related supplies.
  • Monitors known health, safety or environmental hazards, such as noise, air or wastewater pollution levels.
  • Coordinates inspection of facilities, vehicles or equipment.
  • May develop and communicate facility-specific emergency response or evacuation plans.
  • ISO 14001/45001 Management System familiarity.
  • Serve as SME for EHS&S engagement/mentoring/coaching efforts (Associates & Site Management).
  • Champion EHS&S policies and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Facilitate creation of training programs and execution of front line training.
  • Assess compliance status, develop effective audit & inspection programs, and utilize key metrics to drive performance.
  • Determine appropriate corrective and preventative actions to mitigate non-conformances and monitor effectiveness.
  • Coordinate development of response plans & capability for relevant emergency situations (e.g. injuries, illnesses, drills, fire, spills, etc.).
  • Serve as SME to support sustainability improvements and comply with waste, storm water, waste water, spill prevention, regulatory reporting and emergency response.

  • Auditing to close process gaps and drive continuous performance improvements.

  • Coached individuals and teams in different environments.
  • Ability to anticipate issues or improve current practices.


Preferred Requirement:

  • Background in a manufacturing and/or logistics/warehousing environment.

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 04-06 years related experience required.
  • Occasional business travel required
  • Valid driver's license and passport
