Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Plant Controller, the incumbent of this position will be responsible for overseeing and driving activities related to month-end close, financial reporting, the annual financial plan, cost savings, financial and manufacturing variances, capacity planning analysis, annual standard cost roll to include recipe and router changes, capital investment requests and ROI calculations, and ensuring inventory reserves are properly stated.  The position is accountable for ensuring deadlines are met and SAP functionality is used to drive efficiencies and performance. All responsibilities include company-wide activities related to the analysis of actual results and the projections of future results. This position will ensure the department partners with cross-functional areas and delivers reliable and timely data as a basis for management’s decision.

 

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Supervises employees that analyze material, labor, or other expenses to determine production costs, cost of sales, or other cost-related performance measures.
  • Ensures that costs are accurately charged to the appropriate department.
  • Researches and resolves discrepancies or variances between actual and expected costs.
  • Assists the Plant Controller in the preparation and presentation of cost reduction recommendations, and provides cost-related data in support of business decisions or for use in financial reporting.
  • Oversees the Annual Cost Roll and drives recipe and scrap rate changes.
  • Ensures inventory reserves are properly stated.
  • Supports capital investment requests and ROI calculations.
  • Develops financial models for new products and new equipment and estimate CPU for new products.

  • Requires full working knowledge of relevant business practices and procedures in professional field.
  • Uses standard theories, principles and concepts and integrates them to propose a course of action.
  • Provides direct or indirect supervision to a group of employees, assigning tasks and checking work at frequent intervals.
  • Accountabilities include work and people scheduling, performance management and recommendations for hiring decisions.
  • Judgement is required in resolving all day-to-day problems.
  • Contacts are primarily with department supervisors, leads, subordinates, and peers.
  • Occasional contact with external contractors/vendors.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint is required.  Must be able to create complex formulas, macros, and presentations.

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • SAP experience preferred.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 06-08 years related experience required.
  • Regular and predictable attendance

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
