Position Summary:
The Sr. Demand Planner will support the managing of the demand planning process and performance monitoring in the development of statistical forecast and demand plans while providing analytical support. This position requires regular communications with Marketing, Sales, Operations and Finance teams. The SR Demand Planner will determine, analyzes and revise demand projections. The position is responsible for the development of SKU forecasts and to publish reports associated with the demand performance, trends and analysis. This position is also responsible to monitor and dispose of excess and obsolete inventory.
Responsibilities / Essential Duties:
Responsible for producing accurate demand planning forecasts by SKU for assigned market segment product groupings.
Create, maintain and update statistical models and data in the forecasting system. Validate the history and model assumptions. Determine trends. Review and manage statistical exceptions.
Lead the analysis of demand plans on a monthly basis in conjunction with the Marketing and Sales teams.
Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Finance and Operations Management to develop credible consensus demand plans.
Determines, analyzes and revises 3/6-month demand projections by catalog item and month based on Sales and Marketing inputs and demand history to provide the detail necessary for Manufacturing and Distribution to determine their monthly and weekly production and transportation plans.
Analyzes, projects and revises forecasts based on ordering patters for 3 warehouses and four main manufacturing facilities..
Maintains SAP tables that drive forecasting reports.
Support Operations and Distribution in the development of the annual operating budgets.
In cooperation with Sales, Marketing and Finance develops, analyzes and publishes the annual sales plan. Sales plan volumes are analyzed by catalog number by comparing them to demand history and current anticipated changes. Coordinate with Sales/ Marketing to resolve questions. Communicates with and make recommendations.
Develops and publishes a desired demand plan.
Tracks and publishes demand performance measurement impact by MSG, demand/supply group and catalog item; analyzes and identifies strategies to improve.
Coordinates new product and product change implementation plans:
Coordinates with Marketing/Sales/Plant materials organization as necessary.
Determines demand plans at each location based on projected sales.
Solicits and analyzes projected sales levels for new customers, communicating the information to other Demand Managers.
Publishes reports to Sales, Marketing and Upper Management to support business planning.
Publishes demand performance reports to support business planning.
Communicates obstacles and issues affecting accurate demand plans to appropriate departments ensuring quicker resolution of problems.
Develops models that accurately predict safety stock levels based on historical data and anticipated sales forecasts and production plans.
Publishes reports related to demand management performance and related reports as necessary.
Supervises the analyses pertaining to excess and obsolete inventory.
Analyze performance to plan and recommend adjustments to demand plans
Responsible for the execution of the demand planning process to meet or exceed annual objectives for Key Performance Indicators Lead the development of demand scenarios as part of the monthly cycle to be discussed in reconciliation meetings.
Lead or support additional analysis related to demand management.

Required:
Bachelor's degree in business management or related degree and 6+ years experience in demand planning, materials or inventory planning, forecasting or scheduling.
Applicable industry/professional certification preferred.
