Position Summary:


Responsible for overseeing operation, quality assurance and regulatory compliance, human resource function, customer service, financial review and reporting.


Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Responsible for establishing workflow required for pharmacy operations and ensuring compliance with all SOPs.
  • Responsible for the performance to the Continuous Quality Assessment and Improvement Program (CQAIP) and support activities in Quality Units.
  • Develops and maintains strong customer service relationships. Coordinates new customer start up.
  • Responsible for Local, State and Federal regulatory compliance, including Board of Pharmacy requirements, USP 797 standards and GMP’s.
  • In coordination with senior management, sales and support services, develops the strategic plan, including establishing long and short term goals.
  • Responsible for completing reports including monthly financial review and operations reports.
  • Responsible for financial activities of facility, i.e. approving invoices and other expenses.
  • Monitors facility and oversees maintenance and repairs.
  • Work with cross functional work teams to manage overall performance of Business unit.

Responsibilities: Supervisory

  • Responsible for direction and coordination of operations.
  • Responsible for all employee related activities, including hiring, coaching and evaluating job performance, etc.

Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of IV products in hospital or home care environment, and Knowledge of USP 797 and GMPs.
  • Basic accounting and budget awareness.
  • Proven managerial experiences.
  • IV compounding utilizing aseptic techniques.
  • Knowledge of general administrative practices.
  • Knowledge of management principles and supervisory practices.
  • Plan, organize, and manage Pharmacy Operations.
  • Hire, train, supervise, motivate and evaluate staff.
  • Computer literary in window’s environment and computer systems.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with staff and senior management.



Expertise: Qualifications - Experience/Training/Education/Etc



  • BS/Pharm.D. Degree from accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Licensure from the state board of pharmacy.
  • Six to seven years of experience as a licensed pharmacist, include supervisory or management experience.
  • Previous IV admixture experience.
  • As determined by supervisor.
  • Business travel required.
  • Participates in and delivers training as required.


  • Advanced degree in related area.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
