Responsibilities

Braun's legal team is looking for an experienced, creative and energized employment attorney to manage all aspects of the employment legal function and build strong relationships with our HR team and across all business units

 

 

Job Function - General:

  • Develop strategy on all employment matters & proactively counsel our legal and business partners on employment issues and mitigation measures to help B. Braun see around corners and solve problems before they occur
  • Manage a broad range of employment matters, from hiring, performance management, employee relations, terminations, leaves of absence & accommodations, wage & hour, internal investigations, benefits, compensation & immigration
  • Advise on state and federal employment laws (Title VII, ADEA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and similar state laws, wage & hour, trade secret)
  • Provide support on employment-related pre-litigation and litigation matters, including requests from the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and other federal and state agencies
  • Prepare, review and negotiate employment contracts (exec. employment agreements, non-competes, severance, termination) and employment policies, and create scaleable processes for frequently updating such documents
  • Monitor legislation, regulations, case law, and government oversight activities relating to employment issues and provide proactive, strategic advice to the relevant partners
  • Advise and conduct HR-related training and education across the organization
  • Support and advise on diversity, equity and inclusion efforts
  • Build strong and long-term relationships of trust and confidence with stakeholders throughout B. Braun
  • Develop, implement, and improve legal procedures and policies to create a more efficient legal function

 

Job Requirements:

  • 8+ years of employment experience - at a top tier law firm and in an in-house legal organization
  • Demonstrated leadership responsibility involving all aspects of employment matters, including the matters referenced above
  • Proven track record of providing practical, business-focused legal advice to complex organizations
  • Strong ability to project manage, and balance competing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, high EQ, and commitment to a fair and equitable work environment
  • Experience collaborating with, motivating & engaging teams 
  • Extraordinary analytical ability and advocacy skills, and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound and practical business judgment combined with strong common sense
  • Curiosity and creativity & the highest standards of ethics and professional integrity

Education and Professional Knowledge:

Bachelor's degree required.

08+ years related experience required.
