Position Summary:


Technical Services Representative plays a key role in ensuring ATS quality, acting as a gatekeeper for patient safety. Supporting the training of National Repair Center personnel in the service/repairs of surgical instruments, containers and related medical devices in a timely manner with an emphasis on consistency in repair quality, maintaining Aesculap’s reputation as an ethical supplier of services and increasing repair sales. Provides hands on technical training to all new ATS technicians, and other Aesculap employees, vendors etc. as assigned. The Technical Specialist is central to the ongoing quality and inspection existing and emerging instruments and technologies. 


Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Provides Technical support to Customers and Field based employees.
  • Supports training programs by following learning objectives presenting instruction for surgical instrument.
  • Teaches proper use of repair equipment including safety regulations.
  • Coordinates with Technical Training Manager to ensure consistency in quality National Repair Center.
  • Assist in the processing of inbound and outbound repairs through the National Repair Center
  • Performs quality checks on surgical instruments/devices as needed.
  • Supports projects as assigned to ensure that ATS meets all QA/RA requirements, as well as ISO readiness.
  • Ability to communicate with customers, sales, and end users regarding technical and service related questions.
  • Assists in preparation of customer in-service meetings and presentations.
  • Provide assistants and participates in Repair Scans, providing support for technical analysis
  • Assist with Field Quality Audits
  • Works with the Technical Support team and other ATS departments to develop and maintain SOP’s and Technical documents.
  • Resolves situations where normal procedures apply.
  • Provide help in overseeing the inbound and outbound repairs requiring outside vendors.
  • Provides support of other ATS projects as assigned.
  • Must comply with applicable ISO and FDA regulations as stated in Quality Manual.

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply standard mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and averaging. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage. Ability to manipulate formulas and spreadsheets in Excel and create appropriate graphs.

  • Reasoning Ability:  Ability to deal with multiple problems at one time. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret instructions in various forms.

  • Previous experience technical training, or equivalent required
  • Previous experience with manufacturing or repairing of surgical instruments, or other medical devices required.

The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
