Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the supervisor and/or lead person, the utility worker pulls customer orders and warehouse transfers. Will also perform other daily general warehousing and housekeeping tasks as required. Considerable mental, physical and/or visual attention required.

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Extremely physically demanding.
  • Lift and stack over 1,400 cases per day, five days per week with an average weight of up to 30 lbs. per case.
  • Pull customer and warehouse replenishment orders, stretch wrap pallets and stage product in assigned dock area for shipping.
  • Over pack glass cases to prevent damage.
  • Write up damaged cases and dispose of properly.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness by picking up straps, pieces of wood, stretch wrap and place them in trash containers.

Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

  • Must possess good math skills or quantity calculation.
  • Must be able to follow instructions from lead persons and supervisors on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to work together and communicate with co-workers in the area.
  • Must have knowledge of lot number sequence and FIFO.
  • Knowledge of distribution flow
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English
  • Knowledge of storage logic of bulk pallet area.
  • Must be able to operate an electric walkie-rider, standup forklift, sit down forklift and stock picker for pulling customer orders.

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Ability to work non-standard schedule as needed.

 

Target Based Range

$20.90-$23.75

Qualifications

Expertise: Qualifications - Experience/Training/Education/Etc

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months previous warehousing experience
  • Licensed B. Braun fork truck driver
  • Must maintain and/or possess an excellent attendance record.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
